N3 FIX and N3 BINS News and Information on IKS
Written by admin on January 21st, 2010Hello
Right now via IKS is the only way you can get the canadian or american providers.
Some people are wondering how to get it, as maybe their own receiver is not able to do it. Currently we recommend you upgrade to the following receivers, satzen, ilink, sonicview premier, or CNX
You will have to get a dongle adapter if you do not get a model with a build in ethernet device.
What is a dongle you may ask? Its a small device that plugs into the back of your receiver. You then connect ethernet cable from the device to your modem or router. You can think of it, like a small computer that needs a direct link to the internet to do its job right.
You have to load FTA FIXES the way that you always have, via USB.
It takes alot of effort to be able to set one of these up for the first time, their is complications and allot of data entry that the average person does not know how to do.
We have found the site http://www.GoodFTA.com provides great FTA support. They work with people on a one on one basis to trouble shoot and get everything working the way that it should.
Most FTA Sites just have a bunch of out dated guides and tutorials, GoodFTA writes their own tutorials, video guides, and more. It really helps you to input the correct settings, or to set up the IKS aspect of FTA when you have people visually showing you how to, step by step.
GoodFTA Is one of the better FTA Sites out there, as they have lots of cool features no other site has, like live one on one audio chat, live chat, and lots of other methods!
You have to choose for yourself what the best upgrade solution is, if you want to watch TV again, the average receiver and setup, is around 250.00.
You can use your old dish, you just need to upgrade your hardware.
